I got held of our VP’s iPhone for me to unlock for him. Huh! this was a dream date. I got to play with a real iPhone (and play I did) and see for myself what makes people go nuts over this device. Rather than resorting to using commercially-available unlocking software, which might not be compatible and after paying a sum of money, I just followed some instructions that are freely available from the net. Thanks to the iPhoneDevTeam, unlocking the iPhone (and as of this writing, also with the latest firmware 1.1.1 and of the iPod touch) is a cat-and-mouse game with Apple. At least, there is hope sometime in the future that: (1) 3rd party application can be used in iPhone and (2) people can get away from monopolistic tendencies of Apple/AT&T.

Here are some pics of our little adventure.

Bottomline: hell yeah! the iPhone rocks. But nah! I won’t fall for it. I’ll just hold my horses and wait for the next iteration of this uber device.
