Not many will experience production deploys of critical proportions. Most programming experience are straight-through projects of some sorts.
Believe me, having critical deploys on a production environment, where a mistake or something amiss will always spell dollars lost or earned, is nerve wracking. Here, the term “double checking” is not enough. You have to have peer reviews, extensive and laborious process and a keen discipline for details. Unlike some other work stress, this stressful job will mold the meticulous person in you.
I am here waiting for a deploy to be finished. Make no mistake, I am being paranoid now…
